Looking for impartial information on complementary and alternative health therapies? The Library now has access to Natural Standard, a database containing comprehensive information on a wide range of complementary and alternative health therapies.
Natural Standard is divided into twelve sections to provide information on various aspects of health topics:
Natural Standard also includes sections with health calculators (body mass index, calories burned, cost of drinking), nutrition facts, a dictionary, and news.
Natural Standard is an impartial research collaboration whose aim is to provide objective and reliable information on alternative and complementary therapies to support clinicians, patients, and healthcare institutions in their decision making process.
Researchers compiling information for Natural Standard use "a comprehensive methodology and reproducible grading scales" to ensure that information is "evidence-based, consensus-based, and peer-reviewed."
Please note that Natural Standard replaces the Library's subscription to Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database. However, users looking for information from this latter database can still access it through AccessPharmacy.
