Introducing Our Library-Inspired Buttons

The Library has launched a collection of 1-inch buttons inspired by the Library places and spaces you’ve grown to love.

The buttons are designed to capture the visual identity of each of the Library’s locations. There are 13 button designs total with one to three designs for each location.

Since launching the buttons on Library Day, students, faculty, and staff have already picked up over 4,000 buttons. We are now receiving a lot of questions about how to collect the different buttons designs.

To collect them all...

Visit our Library locations

Currently, the button designs are only located at their respective locations. You can find the buttons in bowls at the service desks.

Check back often!

Each location is distributing one button design at a time. Other designs will be made available as we run out.

What inspired the buttons?

Over the years, we have recognized that students, faculty, and staff feel connected to the library locations they visit the most. These buttons are a way of celebrating that Library pride.

An added bonus is that everyone is learning about the different library locations available to them at the University of Waterloo. By checking out the different button designs, people are finding out about locations they may never have known existed.
