World History in Context is a full-text database that includes a wide range of research materials spanning 5,000 years of history.

World History in Context includes a simple search that lets you search all items together or gives you the option of limiting your search results to specific resource types such as reference works, images, primary sources, academic journals, and more.
Even when you search all items, the search results are still easy to navigate, as the search results are divided on the results page by resource type, so you can quickly identify the top hits in each category.
Major topics are also browsable in World History in Context and include extensive topic summaries, expert picks, links to related topics, and often feature video and image content.
The database has wide geographic coverage and aims to provide balanced and comprehensive coverage of the included topics.
