Google Art Project

Thanks to the Google Art Project, you can now explore the galleries and artwork of some of the world’s most celebrated museums.

Art Project uses Google’s street view technology to let you navigate the galleries of 17 museums, including the National Gallery, the MoMA, Palace of Versailles, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

For each museum, there is a selection of featured artwork. Each featured work includes a high resolution picture, background information, links to related media, and options for sharing via Facebook, Twitter, and more. High resolution images also include a zoom feature that allows you to view works of art up close enough to see brushstrokes.

Anyone with a Google/Gmail account can also create personal artwork collections to view and share with others.
