Electronic Theses Guide

Will you be submitting a doctoral or master’s theses to UWSpace in the future? If so, you might be interested in the Library’s new guide, uWaterloo Electronic Theses and Dissertations.

This guide contains everything you need to know about electronic theses and dissertations at Waterloo. It was created by Christine Jewell, Librarian and E-thesis Project Facilitator, to help students in preparing to submit their theses.

The guide describes electronic thesis and dissertation (ETD) preparation, submission, access, and preservation. It includes a useful FAQ page that answers questions such as “When is your thesis accessible?” “Who has access to your thesis?” and “Why is your thesis openly available?

The guide also provides background information on issues related to ETDs, including copyright considerations and the open access movement.

This eTheses guide is available through the Library’s Resources for Research page under “Theses” > “University of Waterloo.”
