The field of research design encompasses planning and conducting empirical research and includes the use of both qualitative and quantitative methods. The Encyclopedia of Research Design contains over 500 entries written by research design scholars.

The Encyclopedia’s contents are fully searchable and are also available to browse via an alphabetical list, a subject index, and a reader’s guide which is divided into these broad subject categories:

The advanced search lets you limit your search terms to different sections of the entries and includes the option to only show entries with sidebars, images, tables, and multimedia.
