Yearbook of International Organizations

The Library now has an electronic subscription to the Yearbook of International Organizations. This reference resource provides detailed profiles for international government and non-government organizations across disciplines.

Created by the Union of International Associations (UIA), the Yearbook is a reflection of the UIA’s commitment “to a sustainable and long-term collection, analysis, and dissemination of detail information on global civil society bodies and networks.”

It has a straightforward search that includes a name and acronym search and options for limiting search results to organizations’ main office city, main office country, year of foundation, member countries, and more.

For example, a search for organizations with “women” in the title, limited to only those organizations with main offices in Canada yields 18 results:

Organization records include contact details, history, aims, relations with intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations, publications, members, subjects, and more.

The Yearbook is accessible via Primo and the Library’s Online Reference Shelf.
