REAP's Interactive Media Display in the Dana Porter Library

Research Entrepreneurs Accelerating Prosperity (REAP) will be showcasing a wide variety of interactive technologies in the Dana Porter Library during Congress.

The technologies on display – described as interactive display environments and applications (IDEA) – are ones developed in the FELT lab in St. Jacobs, a community-based lab where academia and industry partners collaborate to configure technologies in novel ways to meet new market needs.

The display will include a recharge lounge, where delegates can relax and recharge their mobile devices while also interacting with various installations, including:

In addition to this interactive media display in the Dana Porter Library, REAP will also be holding hands-on “thinkering” events (thinking + tinkering) with interactive display technologies on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday during Congress:

Thinkering about the 21st Century Classroom

During a 30-minute session, participants will be introduced to – and do some ‘serious play’ with – new interactive displays that can transform the way they teach and the way they present ideas to students. The display’s venue in St. Jacob’s is a 10-minute drive from Waterloo. A train is available from Waterloo’s Clay and Glass Gallery and the Perimeter Institute (16:15 departure; $15 round trip). Register for this event.
