Municipal Open Data Websites

Staff in the Geospatial Centre recently created and launched an online map for locating Canadian municipal open data.

The map of Canada displays circles as visual cues for locating which municipalities have open data websites with GIS data – the larger the circles, the larger the number of GIS datasets. When clicked, the circles list the names of the municipalities, the number of datasets, and links to the municipalities’ open data websites.

The map website includes a search function and users can also limit the map to display data websites by province or data format.
