Introducing Sarah Brown

Sarah Brown recently joined the Davis Centre Library's Information Services and Resources team for a 8-month co-op work term.

In this position, Sarah will be providing research assistance via the Library's chat service and at the Davis Centre Library's research help desk. She will also be assisting with a variety of projects relating to the Library's collections and will be joining the Library's Outreach Committee, where she will help with promotional campaigns and events like Library Day.

Currently in her 2nd term in Western's Master of Library and Information Science program, this is Sarah's first experience working in a library. Prior to starting at Western she worked for a few years in social services and employment services.

"One of the reasons I chose to do my MLIS at Western is for their Outreach and Programming specialization," Sarah says. "I really enjoyed working with the public in my last workplaces and I view the library as a place where librarians have the opportunity to enrich the lives of their community members, through continued learning but also as a community space."

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys biking, running, and home-renovating.

A warm welcome to Sarah!
