Changes to the Library's Course Reserves System
Effective Monday, January 21, all students, faculty, and staff members will need a WatIAM account to access the Library's Course Reserves system.
This change comes with the Library’s switch to Central Authentication Service (CAS) for Course Reserves. CAS is a web-based authentication application that is used for other campus services such as Waterloo LEARN.
Why is the Library using CAS for Course Reserves?
- It enables single sign-on with other CAS-authenticated sites such as Waterloo LEARN. Users signed in to LEARN or Course Reserves can move seamlessly between both systems without having to re-authenticate.
- Course Reserves content can be more fully integrated into Waterloo LEARN. Links can be made to entire reserves lists, individual items, or item tags, and the exchange of information between the two systems will be secured.
If you do not have a WatIAM account, contact your Faculty's computing office to create one or see Information Systems & Technology's Passwords & Accounts & Email page.
