In this issue you will read about a new guide created to help you determine your research impact with respect to citation metrics, a display in the Dana Porter Library, and new resource STAT!Ref. We also introduce our new Public Opinion Polls: Polls and Surveys guide and remind you that extended hours for the exam period will start on March 31 and run until April 25.
Interested in tracking citation counts for your publications? Librarian Kathy MacDonald recently transformed her popular "Calculating your Academic Footprint" workshop into an online guide to provide faculty and graduate students with information on how to determine their research impact with respect to citation metrics. When you hear "micro desk" do you picture a tiny little desk? If so, you're probably not alone. The Library's "micro desk" is actually a public service desk on the 1st floor of the Dana Porter Library where staff sign out "controlled access" materials and provide support to students and researchers using the microfilm and fiche. In response to a significant decline in the need to support researchers (due in large part to the Library's amazing new micro scanners), the Library will be permanently closing this desk at the end of this term.
