Unglue It

Give an e-book to the world! Unglue It is a website dedicated entirely to freeing those not-yet-free books, so that e-book editions can be made available for everyone to read and enjoy.

Unglue It works like this: People vote on which books they’d like to make freely available. Unglue It staff work with rights-holders to decide on fair compensation for releasing a free, legal edition of their already-published books under Creative Commons licensing. People pledge toward the amount required. When the threshold is reached, Unglue It pays the rights-holders and they issue an “unglued” digital, no-DRM edition of the book.

So far these books are available through Unglue It:

E-books available on Unglue It do not have any restrictive technologies, so they can be read on any device, can be converted into other formats, and are available for sharing with others.
