This month the Library says goodbye and "happy retirement" to Susan Mavor and Susan Routliffe, two long-serving librarians that, combined, devoted 70 years to building and strengthening the Library's collections and services for the benefit of students, faculty, and researchers. The Age of Enlightenment meets the electronic era in the Library's newest subscription database, Electronic Enlightenment. Electronic Enlightenment provides online access to thousands of 17th to mid-19th century correspondences by Enlightenment intellectuals, offering a compelling glimpse into what is described as "the first global social network."
