Find Fiction in the Stacks!

We're making it easier to find leisure reading fiction in the Dana Porter Library. In response to frequent requests from students looking for popular novels, library staff have started to add "fiction" stickers to the spines of novels to make them easily identifiable.

The stickers say "FICTION" and picture a green graphic of a book on a pink background. In cases where the book spines are too narrow to accommodate this sticker, staff have instead used a circular pink sticker:

The stickers will hopefully help people to identify novels quickly and easily in cases where they “just want a good book to read” but do not have a specific title in mind.

To get started browsing for leisure reading materials, make your way to the 9th and 10th floor of the Dana Porter Library and start browsing in these call number ranges:

This fiction identification initiative is complemented by the Library’s Popular Reading guide, which provides additional information on this initiative and further guidance on locating leisure reading books in the Library.
