As fast as staff set up new carrels and comfortable chairs in the Sims Silent Study, students filled them. Located on the main floor, west side of the Davis Library, each of the 128 carrels has a well lit desk surface with 2 power receptacles and space for a laptop, course notes, books, and other study essentials. Students can even secure their laptops by sliding security cable through the grommet on the lower side panel of the carrel.
On behalf of our students, we thank The Economical Insurance Group who funded these study space improvements in honour of Peter Sims, a former chair of both UW's Board of Governors and the Board of The Economical Insurance Group.
