OCUL Map
Group |
The OCUL Map Group operates under the auspices of the Ontario Council of University Libraries. The Group reports to the Map Group Coordinator, who is the OCUL director responsible for coordinating the activities of the Group. Members of the Group elect from among themselves a chair, who normally serves a two year term. The chair calls two meetings of the Group each year, one in the spring, the other in the fall. These meetings, usually in Toronto and held either at the University of Toronto or Ryerson University, provide an opportunity for members to exchange information and to promote the sharing of resources and expertise.
Membership
Membership of the Group consists of delegates from each of the 16 OCUL institutions. Delegates are those individuals who have or who share some degree of responsibility for maps and/or geographic information (e.g, geospatial data) materials at their respective institutions. In addition there are observer members from other institutions within Ontario or elsewhere which, although not eligible for full membership, maintain an interest in the activities of the Map Group. The Group maintains a membership list of current members, both full and observer. Please contact Eva Dodsworth for corrections or other changes to this membership list.
Listserv Communication
To foster the exchange of information among members, a closed discussion list (listserv) is maintained at the University of Toronto:
OCULMAPG-L@LISTSERV.UTORONTO.CA. Map Group members are encouraged to contact Leanne Hindmarch if they wish to be subscribed to the listserv. New subscribers will receive a message explaining how the listserv functions. Please note that the listserv cannot handle file attachments.Map Group Minutes
Minutes of the Map Group's semi-annual meetings are available online although access is password protected. Members of the OCUL Map Group and of OCUL's Data in Ontario Group (DINO) will need a username and password, which they can obtain by contacting Eva Dodsworth. Responsibility for recording minutes is shared among Map Group members according to the following minute-taking roster.
For specific information about any of the member institutions, please
contact personnel from that institution.
