UML staff, collections and services will relocate to the Dana Porter Library in the spring of 2012. The exact dates will be dependent on a variety of factors, but the working plan is to try to coordinate the actual move for between terms, i.e. late April/early May. Pending more permanent arrangements, collections, a service point and staff will be located on the 3rd floor, in space recently occupied by CTE staff. A longer term goal is to integrate UML services and collections with services and collections already in Porter. As a result of such integration and as we look to the future, new services and/or service models may evolve.
With a focus on immediate needs and an eye to the future, the UML Transfer Group will develop recommendations for the Library Executive Committee on matters related to:
While developing plans for the interim phase, the Group will also take into account longer term possibilities. If the Group identifies longer term possibilities that could be introduced during the interim phase, they will make corresponding recommendations.
Because of the tight time-frame, a draft report with proposed recommendations and an outline of plans should be prepared for the Library Executive Committee by February 17th.
