Rev. William Burgess & Thomas McMurray

These two early Canadian works on temperance each used unique methods to convince readers of the potential ill effects of alcohol consumption.

Rev. William Burgess used a number of tables and graphs in the Land, Labor and Liquore (1887) while Thomas McMurray included poems in the Temperance Lectures (1873).
