Purpose: Terms of Reference and User Study
Present: Jane Britton, Amos Lakos, Sharon Lamont, Ann Naese,
Laurie Strome, Mary Stanley

- Some changes were made to the Terms of Reference Document.
Final version approved, and will be examined again at the next meeting.
- Analysis of the Report of the Information Needs of the University of
Waterloo Academic Community.
The Community Needs Process Group has been asked by the University
Librarian to examine the Report thoroughly and recommend areas of
enhancement and determine which areas need further analysis and study.
The Chief Librarian would also like the Group to consider the Report
for publication.
After a preliminary examination the Group agreed on the following:
1. The report is a thorough academic study and should remain as such.
2. The next step for CNAG is to design a document for the various
client groups based on the findings of the survey. This document(s)
will be designed to attract the interest of the reader. The language
and design will be user friendly with graphs, charts and other visual
aids employed throughout the publication. Group members will first
review the "Information Needs" report
to break down the text into categories and subcategories appropriate
for the new publication.
