- Review of the Information Needs Report - Continued
Shabiran continued her presentation of the methodology used for
the 93/94 Information Needs Report. Gained an understanding of:
Frequencies: numbers - how many said what.
Recoding - collapsing categories together
Validity - The survey team felt that if they could get a minimum
of 20 undergraduate students from each level, ie. 100, 200, 300, 400
from each department they would have a large enough number for analysis.
Cross Tabulation - linking one variable with another.
Source: anywhere people find information.
Resource: physical material held by the Library.
The report was broken into three sections and group members were assigned
to:
Faculty - Shabiran and Laurie
Graduates - Mary and Sharon
Undergraduates - Jane and Ann
Bars/Graphs - Amos
Action: Reread and focus on delegated sections of the
survey. Pull out important findings. If more data is needed, ask Shabiran.
- Meeting adjourned at 11:00 a.m.

9:00 a.m.
