Minutes # 40 - May 13, 1997

Present: Amos Lakos, Sharon Lamont - recorder, Ann Naese, Connie Pantic - facilitator, Shabiran Rahman, Laurie Strome

  1. Minutes of the Previous Meeting - approved with minor changes.

  2. Business Arising

    No applications for membership received. We should each think about potential members and send a message to the group for consideration.

  3. Study Space Report

    Discussion of Amos's draft report. This report includes a suggestion that professional advice (a consultant) should be obtained. Additional comments about the draft should be forwarded to Amos by Friday, May 16.

    NB: in future, when we advertise for focus groups, we should include the phone number for the Office of Human Research.

  4. HelpDesk Focus Group

    Laurie wrote up the flip charts from our focus group with Donna Ellis.

    The notes were reviewed, revised, and will be given to Systems. We also reviewed the response from the Systems Department to the Report of the HelpDesk Survey.

  5. Additional training with Donna Ellis

    Shabiran will meet with Donna to analyze the tape recording. Various members of CNAG had wanted to participate, but Donna would prefer to work with one person only. Shabiran will meet with her next week and share with CNAG her observations about the process and any tools that Donna uses in her analysis.

  6. Library Council Report

    Amos reported briefly and will forward Council minutes.
