Meeting Notes #41 (May 21, 1997)

  1. Minutes of the Previous Meeting

    Approved

  2. Business Arising

    (4) Representation for CNAG on Council

    Due to very poor response to our two e-mail for additional representatives on CNAG, we decided to approach a number of staff members individually. The Group believe that is is important to have more sustained participation in the Group.

  3. Shabiran Rahman's meeting with Donna Ellis about analysis of Focus Group Interviews was postponed for a less busy time.

  4. Focus Group Interviews.

    The group followed-up the brainstorming session on how to attract students for Focus Group Interviews. Some points:

    - should we continue splitting the Study Space Focus Groups by location? (Porter/Davis).

    We will still try to schedule the interviews by location, but the at parallel time, so that in case of no shows, we will be able to consolidate the sessions.

    - will approach PPG to set up a base yearly budget for CNAG - to cover expenses for supplies, staffing, focus group expenses.

    - will approach Graphic Services in order to set up a way to offer Venda Card credits as enticement for Focus Group participation.

    - will approach the User Education Committee for advice and coordination of advertising of Focus Groups and other assessment activities.

    - Sharon Lamont will design a general handout to students in the form of a questionnaire which will gather information on students interested in our activities.

    - Amos Lakos will approach the Student Federation to set a dialog in motion.

    - Focus Group Interviews will be scheduled from June 16 -30.

  5. Web Feedback.

    - analyse the University of Arizona Library (and other libraries)

    Web Feedback setup with the goal of setting up a feedback presence and analysis on the library's public web.

  6. Study Space Interim Report.

    - wil be discussed at the next Library Council Meeting.

  7. Next Meeting - June 24th
