Meeting – Monday, January 24, 2000 - Porter Library

  1. Business Arising – Library Council – Connie Pantic reported that during the last UW Library Council meeting, the Council decided to disband. CNAG was the only group that was interested in the Council continuing in some fashion. CNAG is concerned by this
    development. CNAG hoped that Council will provide a venue for communication with the executive level.

  2. CNAG Activities Table – will be edited, published to the CNAG area on the staff web and periodically updated.

  3. Projects – 1 – UWELib top page tests. The UWELib group want to test one of the new UW top page prototypes. The test will involve interiews with about 15 – 20 students and faculty. They are asking CNAG for participation and assistance in the projects. CNAG will assist as time permits.   4. User Education Project – follow-up survey of the "Keeping –up with your research electronically" sessions. These are becoming popular. User Ed has the names, dept and e- mail of all participants. Objective – to gather feedback from participants about the session and its impact on students. Find out what worked well, what needs change and in general
    how to make the sessions more effective in increasing student learning. User Ed would like assistance from CNAG on developing a survey instrument. A draft questionnaire will be presented at the next CNAG meeting – Feb21.

  5. Library Instruction Needs and Skill for Liaison Librarians. User Ed is interested in setting up 2 professional development workshops/sessions for Liaison Librarians. They want to survey librarians about information literacy issues and skills they want to learn about. Used Ed would like assistance from CNAG to fine tune a questionnaire. Resource – survey questionnaire developed for the same objective by the University of Arizona Library.

  6. Examine web questionnaire form for the revised UWELib. Examine feedback environment for the new UWELib – find out who is responsible for the design of e-forms in the library.
