Nvivo software
Shabiran is still waiting for a copy of this content analysis software to arrive and be placed on her workstation.
3. Ask a Librarian (Michele)
Michele Laing attended this CNAC meeting to discuss the viewing of AskLib questions by CNAC members. Due to privacy issues as well as potential for questions to be answered by non-designated staff, CNAC agreed to no longer view each and every AskLib question. We did ask Michelle if she would be able to provide CNAC with a regular summary of AskLib questions. Anne suggested a summary containing just question categories and numbers would be appropriate for CNAC's needs.
4. Call for a non-participant recorder
CNAC will be putting out a library wide call for a new external recorder for the committee.
5. Update on Information Services Review
Presently CNAC is uninvolved in the Information Services Review. CNAC's role in future assessments was discussed and a possible role of coordinating all of the Library's assessment projects was suggested. Anne will be looking at various assessment structures being used at different institutions.
Shabiran provided the group with a copy of the Project Charter for Focus Group Discussions about Reference Service. Shabiran will be joining this group on behalf of CNAC.
6. LibQual Data Analysis for UW
Anne will look at the LibQual binder and view the Gap Model graphs. She will present CNAC with an overview of her findings.
7. Meeting Schedule over Summer
CNAC decided to cancel all meetings for the summer term and resume in the Fall term.
8. CNAC and Future Organizational Structure
Began initial discussions on the group structure of CNAC. Discussed various topics such as whether there was another way of doing what we are doing and whether we could become more project driven. Decided our basic group structure was efficient, but further discussions will occur on how CNAC will fit into Library assessment projects.
