1. Approval of minutes from the January 29 th meeting

 The minutes were approved with minor changes.

2. Business Arising

  1. NVivo: Nothing further to report at this time.
  2. Recorder: CNAC members will rotate as needed.
  3. JAWS: Janet will test survey with JAWS.
  4. Janet will find out status of OPD student database.

3. Survey of Students with Disabilities: Update.

Guest Speaker: Janet Wason

 Janet reported that the survey went live by OPD last Friday on their website. OPD is in the process of advertising the survey in the Imprint. There were some issues regarding the advertisement that are being looked into. CNAC would prefer that the survey URL not be included in this advertisement, however OPD staff disagree and feel that they would like to publish it to reach those students with disabilities that are not registered with the office. Shabiran will talk with OPD staff regarding this issue. One possible solution discussed was that we would have no URL published during our advertised survey time frame, and that after our survey finishes, OPD could take on the survey themselves and do with it what they desire.

The article sent to the Imprint will also be changed to include Janet’s contact information which had been left out in the first draft.

4. Article

 The status of the article CNAC would like to write based on the Students with Disabilities Survey is dependant on the outcome with the OPD office. We will most likely not write the article if our survey target audience cannot be limited properly.

Dan provided a quick outline of various topics that could be included in the article. He will proceed with working on the basic outline and then bringing in CNAC members to assist with particular assigned sections. Dan will send out an email to CNAC members regarding this.
