The minutes from the meeting were approved.

None to report.
- Report/Article
CNAC has decided to keep the report and article together at this point. We will separate it into to separate papers in the future.
Some of the discussions/suggestions revolving around the article were:
- The article is quite long. CNAC would like to work on compacting certain sections and reducing the number of headings.
- Information regarding the survey software used should be put in the article, but is not necessary for the report.
- CNAC members need to confirm how they calculated the percentages from their assigned sections of the survey results. We need to make sure they are all consistent. CNAC members will confirm and email Shabiran.
- It needs to be clear in the article when making recommendations that there are a lot of missing values in our results.
- As a way of compacting some of the text, CNAC agreed that we should examine the possibility of putting some of the text data into graphics/table format. One example given was providing a pie chart for each question representing the survey results.
- In some areas of the report/article, perhaps bullets could be used instead of lengthy text to make it more impactful for the reader.
- Janet will go through the report/article, insert her suggested changes/additions and email out to the group.
- Michele will look for sections in the report/article where graphics would be more effective than text. She will also do some editing.
- After Janet and Michele have edited the report/article, it will be given to Jane for a more intense edit including grammar etc.
- Shabiran informed the group that News @ Your Library is planning an issue specific to the library and Persons with Disabilities. She suspects it will be the March issue, but will talk to Mary to see if it could be moved to April so that our survey results could be a part of the issue.
- In the ‘services’ section of the survey, we need to explain the results in the format of “__# of people felt”, as opposed to percentages, since it was a multiple answer question.
- The last paragraph of ‘library services’ section will need to be adjusted to remove the percentages. Instead we will need to focus on providing the results on a ‘most/least used’ basis. Janet will make this change.
- CNAC agreed that there would be no need to include the results for those results representing less than 5 people. For now will we leave it as is, but will examine it closer at a later date and edit out the results with little impact.
- Michele will research articles on previous surveys to examine whether results should be provided to the closest decimal point or whether they should be rounded to whole numbers.
- Dan has also agreed to look over the report/article to suggest areas where graphics would work more effectively than text.
