MINUTES OF THE MEETING, APRIL 10,2002

1. Minutes of the meeting, February 13,2002: Accepted.

2. Business Arising:

Item 5, TDR Registration Page: Susan noted the authentication process for remote access to TDR through the proxy still needs to be checked. It is not clear that it is working correctly.

Item 5, DDI Project: Susan and Shabiran will look at this and send feedback to Richard.

Item 5, TDR Service Agreement: The agreement has not yet been finalized.

Item 6, SWORDC: Shabiran contacted Bo about the links to the data sets on the SWORDC website. The problem will be corrected.

3. Additional Agenda:

Add “Data Links” as agenda item 6.

4. Advisory Group Meeting (Susan):

A tentative date for the Faculty Advisory Group meeting was set (April 25, Porter 428, 1:30 p.m.) Susan will ask Val Huggan to check room availability and confirm booking.

5. Geosuite (2001 Census Data):

The cd-rom version of Geosuite (loaded on the EDS machine) was examined. It was noted there are some idiosyncracies between this version and the Geosuite version available through the TDR site. Susan will print off copies of the on-line users’ guide and will meet with Shabiran to examine it further.

6. Data Links (Shabiran)

Shabiran reported the latest issue of Data Links has been sent out. She will send a notice to staff. She also noted her two year term as editor is up.

Future Meetings: It was decided that EDS should meet the first Wednesday of each month. Summer meetings in July and August will be cancelled. There will be a meeting on June 5, 2002.
