MINUTES OF THE MEETING, JULY, 2004

1. Recorder - Christy Branston

2. The Minutes of the May 2, 2004 meeting were approved with minor corrections made in item #9: "TDR" should be changed to "ICPSR" .

3. Business Arising - #7 The News@your library issue featuring data resources has been published. Members of the Committee noticed that small changes were made to some of the articles that the group had originally submitted.

4. Additional Agenda - #9 TDR OMG (Richard) replacing Around the Table/New Business

5. ACMLA Report - Richard attended this conference (a joint conference with CAPDU) in Manitoba from May 31st - June 4th. Highlights from the conference included an interesting discussion on the inconsistencies in how provincial and municipal governments across Canada are publishing and distributing GIS data.

6. CAPDU Report - Sandra attended this conference from May 31st - June 4th. She reported on various topics that were discussed at the conference and will distribute her full report to the Committee. Many of the conference presentations are linked on the CAPDU site.

7. UW EDS web site - There are still some links to the defunct EDS email address on our web site.
ACTION: Christy will correct the links.

8. Annual Report input for Susan Routliffe - Sandra explained that Susan Routliffe has asked Library Committees to prepare a brief report for Library Administration to be included in the Library's annual report.
ACTION: Sandra will get statistics on data consultations from and also report on significant Committee highlights, key objectives and trends in the past year. Sandra will accept input from Committee members to be included in the report.

9. TDR OMG - Richard reported on the meeting held June 14th in Waterloo:
