Minutes of Previous Meeting none 2. Business Arising Erin Harvie has requested and has been sent sample copies of the SAS and SPSS definition files. 3. Additional Agenda Sue Moskal - Public service component Bill Oldfield - ICPSR 4. CANSIM/EPAS The installation has been slowed by a lack of disc space (We were labouring under the misperception that we had more than we really do!). Also, the sample password has been closed off, until the system is up and running here our users are back to the print information. 5. Census and GSS data The inventory of what Census data we have is progressing with the help of the list Albert brought of what has been sent by Laine. Access to GSS data will be similar to that provided for the Census. 6. Data Acquisition Albert Kemp appears to have the FTP process for Census data under control; he will be asked to add a section to the program to e-mail Sita Vanderveen (MAD) and Doug Morton with file names each time files arrive. 7. Access to DRC data Sue Moskal reports that the codebooks in LIB 222 have been sorted out. She and Shabiran Rahman will make estimates for furniture requirements. 8. Interface Training Carol Vogt has now trained / updated several of the task group members on creating and maintaining gopher pages and menus. 9. Public Service Component Sue Moskal distributed a discussion paper concerning the public service component of the Electronic Data Service. Task Group members agreed to review the paper for more in- depth discussion at the next meeting. 10. ICPSR Bill Oldfield brought forward a letter from Peter Woolstencroft and Bill Moul (current and next chair, respectively, of Political Science) urging the Library to rejoin ICPSR. Doug Morton will reply and forward the letter to Murray Shepherd. (UW is currently working with a group that is working towards creating a Canadian ICPSR consortium.)
