Minutes of Previous Meeting - * Gazette was misspelled "Gazzette". * Typo in section 5, line 2 "gohper". 2. Business Arising - * The decision was made not to move access to UW-EDS in the Library gopher up to the "facilities & services" directory at this time. 3. Additional Agenda - 7. Conference Board of Canada 4. CANSIM/EPAS - A. Kemp demonstrated latest developments with WebSIM (Web to CANSIM). The interface now supports Lynx, and UNIX mail. The interface can be accessed by way of the "UW-EDS" link on the "Electronic Library" page. D. Morton will handle announcements to Gazette and Library staff in general. B. Oldfield has contacted Andrea Chappell (DCS), regarding secure telnet access to CANSIM. She now has the shell scripts that were written to provide a restricted environment. Some bugs remain. C. Woods is continuing to work on regular weekly updates for CANSIM. 5. Census, GSS & VAW - S. Moskal reports that work on the census area of the Library gopher is progressing. UW-EDS plans to offer access to this data in stages. patrons will be kept informed via the gopher. D. Morton reports that C. Vogt has successfully run SAS/SPSS programs against the VAW data. Testing with other data files will continue. C. Vogt will also put together instructions for running the programs. B. Oldfield has made another request for a Web to SAS program from David Barber, at the University of Michigan. 6. User Interface - Progress will be reviewed weekly. 7. Conference Board of Canada - S.
