Also correct spelling of name to 'Bo Wandschneider (University of Guelph)' 2.Business Arising Bill Oldfield will continue to look at ways for retrieving meaningful statistics. Two possible enhancements identified in the CANSIM area are: a.Ability to specify beginning and ending dates b.Ability to search matrix 3.Additional Agenda Faculty purchasing datasets for EDS. 4.CANSIM It would be valuable to have a list of commonly used series numbers eg. CPI, included in CANSIM. 5.CENSUS, GSS and VAW A back-up schedule would be set-up with the assistance of Charles Woods as new datasets are received. 6.User Interface Carol Vogt will discuss with Erin Harvey how Web to SAS could be made userfriendly for SPSS users. Bill Oldfield will contact with Ian Goldberg at the Computer Science Club to find out if there are any competent and interested students available who could assist the UWEDS Committee. 7.Faculty purchasing datsets for EDS Shabiran had the request from Dr. John Goyder, Sociology, who was willing to buy a dataset from a research grant and was wondering if UWEDS could put it up. Bill Oldfield had a similar question earlier. UWEDS would put the dataset on provided the conditions laid out in the UWEDS Policy statement were met:- a.The Dataset was of interest and use to the larger UW Community b.Permission was available to make the dataset available to the UW community c.Documentation and system files for the dataset were available Doug Morton agreed to add the UWEDS Policy Statement to the "About EDS" file on the Gopher.
