                   Minutes for Meeting of April 12, 1995

1.  Minutes of Previous Meeting - Accepted w/o change.

2.  Add'l Agenda - 7. Business Use of Census data

3.  CANSIM/EPAS - 
    Doug Morton has updated most of the Cansim manual web pages.  Some
    updating still remains to be done.

    Bill Oldfield reminded the group of the HTML standards information
    available through UWELIB.

4.  Census, GSS & VAW - 
    Shabiran Rahman showed her latest updates to the GSS web page.
    Doug Morton is working on a page about how to use Network File
    System (NFS) mounted data.

5.  User Interface - 
    The UW-EDS homepage was briefly reviewed and layout alternatives
    were discussed.

    Bill Oldfield mentioned that the UW-EDS use stats could easily be 
    monitored as a possible way to measure the success of the service.

    Richard Pinnell pointed out that the group might consider having
    our own legal disclaimer for the data sets we are providing access
    to.

6.  LSDB - 
    Richard Pinnell reports that, according to Roger Mannell of Rec.
    & Leisure Studies, datasets for LSDB are forthcoming.  The databank
    is estimated to be approx. 100 megabytes in size.

7.  Business Use of Census Data - 
    Doug Morton reported that if commerical interest in our data is 
    shown, the use policies which were negotiated originally may not
    apply.
