Minutes of Previous Meeting - Approved. 2. Add'l Agenda - 6. ICPSR, 7. LSDB, 8. Room 222 3. CANSIM/EPAS - Doug Morton reports that Andrea Chappell of DCS is still working on secure telnet access to the CANSIM database. Sue Moskal read a letter from Bill Graham at Statistics Canada, regarding CANSIM updates and resources. She will forward copies to the rest of the group. 4. Census & GSS - Carol Vogt determined that most of the GSS data files are corrupt. This occurred when these files were incorrectly transferred to Library, after they were dumped from tape. Carol will personally transfer the files again and test them. The newly recieved Census Consortium cd's will be investigated to determine their content in relation to the data we already have. Work on the Census web space continues. Albert Kemp will keep the group informed of its progress. There was further discussion about storage constraints on Library. UW-EDS will continue to try and determine which data is absolutely necessary to store online, and which data can be archived. 5. Electronic Media Manual (RHP) - Richard Pinnell identified 5 distinct areas that are documented with respect to electronic media: 1)selection, 2)acquisition, 3)processing, 4)cataloguing, and 5)archiving. The members of UW-EDS who will be providing information on these areas are: S. Moskal (selection), D. Tytko (acquisition), A. Kemp (processing) D. Morton (CD-ROMs and archiving). 6. ICPSR - Sue Moskal presented a questionnaire from ICPSR for future data acqui- sitions. There were a few questions she had about data formats, etc. Sue plans to mail the completed questionnaire by the end of the week. 7. LSDB - Richard Pinnell has maintained contact with Roger Mannell, Dept. of Recreation, to let him know of our continued interest in acquiring the LSDB datasets. However, there has been no response from Roger. Richard will attempt to contact Roger once again. 8. Room 222 - Discussion deferred to next week. Next Meeting: July 5, 1995, 1:30 pm, Porter 428.
