Davis Centre Library Renovations Planning Team

Terms of Reference

The Renovations Planning Team leads and coordinates the work necessary to prepare for renovations to the Davis Centre Library based on models developed by the Davis Centre Information Commons Planning Team and consistent with available funding. The Team will have plans sufficiently developed so that renovations can begin May 1, 2004, and will continue its work until the renovations are completed.

In particular the Renovations Planning Team is responsible for:

Developing a plan for the phased implementation of the renovations. The plan will identify project tasks, associated costs, target completion dates, and the individual(s) responsible for coordinating, overseeing and/or accomplishing each task. The plan will also indicate when each task can be undertaken and completed relative to the other tasks.
Working with individuals and groups such as the architect, Plant Operations, Graphic Services, Food Services, and IST who may become engaged in the project.
Working with the Library Communications and Development Manager to develop a communications plan.
Ensuring that the administrative contacts for the project are regularly informed of developments and consulted as appropriate.

The Davis Centre Library renovations are being undertaken in the context of service changes that will affect staffing and other matters related to daily operations and on-going maintenance. Department managers will be responsible for introducing and managing changes associated with the renovations. The Team will be well positioned to identify needs and issues related to daily operations and on-going maintenance, and will advise managers as it becomes aware, over the course of its work, of matters that they will need to address to ensure appropriate staffing, operation and maintenance of the renovated Library.
