Procedures for considering electronic resources*
*These apply to electronic resources except individual e-journals. For individual e-journals submit a Request for New Journal or Change of Format.
These procedures have been developed to ensure that:
- we are able to provide appropriate technical support for all purchases or subscriptions
- we are able to accept and comply with associated licences and that we have a copy of such licences
- the possibility of a consortia purchase has been considered
- other issues or concerns are identified and addressed before decisions to purchase or subscribe are made
- Check the list of electronic products considered to see if the resources you are interested in has already been considered.
If the resource is included on the List and you wish to have it re-considered, please email IRMC. IRMC will respond about required documentation.
-
If appropriate, contact librarians at other institutions, especially Laurier and Guelph, to see if they have considered the resource and might be interested in participating in a trial or joint purchase/subscription.
-
Complete the Electronic Resources Request Form and send it to IRMC before taking further action.
- IRMC will consider the request and then contact you and let you know if further action is required.
