  1. Minutes of the Previous Meeting.
The minutes were approved with corrections.

  2. Business Arising.
Usage statistics for individual library web pages can be extracted from a lengthy report that Charles runs periodically but the report cannot target only specific pages. This report can break down use by time period. Counters could be placed on pages but would be time-consuming to create and could not be broken down by time period unless they were re-set at intervals. Those responsible for web pages could determine whether counters should be placed on their individual pages. Linda recommended that, if ISMC wants to pursue this, Charles Woods be invited to attend a future meeting to discuss issues involved.

The Systems department and the people from LT3 will be getting together to determine responsibility for ensuring that Library material necessary for workshops and orientation is available in the flex lab. The Library Instruction Committee will be asked to identify what kinds of systems support will be needed for library workshops.

  3. Reserve material
Wish provided a copy of the letter that will be sent to faculty outlining the changes in the processes involved to place materials on reserves. A copy will be sent to Liaison Librarians for information purposes. The method of disseminating this letter was discussed.

  4. Staffing Information Desks
In light of diminishing desk activity statistics, the staffing of the Porter and Davis information desks may be revised. To that end, peak and low time periods will be looked at and other ways of providing service will be identified. A full discussion with all members of ISR on staffing the desks will take place in September with a view to implementing a better method of assisting our patrons starting in the winter term.
