  1. Minutes of the Previous Meeting, May 6, 2005

    The minutes were approved.

  2. Business Arising

Jane still needs to meet with a number of Porter ISR members regarding their thoughts on the current Mini Team Model.

Christy has sent out recommendations for the laptop procedures.

Marina sent out an e-mail regarding Systems Help Desk Service during lunch hours. They will reconsider what the definition of an emergency is.

  3. Final Report/Action Telephone Reference (Mark Polger)

Mark analysed the voice mail menu system at extension 4883 and wrote up a short report on his findings. The report indicated some problems, some outdated options, and other issues for discussion. Two new models were proposed for an updated voice mail menu system. This new model attempts to simplify the current voice mail menu system and make it more current. The brochure option will be removed since the web site has replaced all print promotional materials. As well, the repetition of 4600 will be removed (it's repeated twice). Lastly, UMD and Musagetes will be added to the list of options, collapsing one option for general inquires (5544-Porter Circ).

Mark will email ISR with a final prototype for the voice mail menu to take to Library Administration.

  4. Discharging of Reference Materials, should it continue? (Marian Davies)

It was decided to discontinue this procedure.

  5. Approval Books in Porter ISR

Shabiran reported that Approval books will be moved to the Porter ISR Department on June 6.

  6. About the Annex (Susan Routliffe)

Susan communicated the status of the Annex to the department and discussed the criteria that could be used to weed books from the Annex.

  7. Library’s New Website (Marian & Christy)

Christy will write up a brief report on the Survey & Usability testing.

The website will be frozen from June 6 until June 27.

Staff new – webpage-orientation sessions will likely occur June 21 (am & pm) and 22 (pm)

Expect the new site to go live June 27.

Christy and Sandra are the LibWebReview 1st point of contact for Porter users of Contribute – ask them for help getting started playing with Contribute while
    the website is frozen.

  8. Schedule of Meetings

It was decided that we would discontinue our Porter ISR meetings for the summer unless there is a reason to meet.

  9. Around the Table

Kevin reported everything is progressing well for him.

Marina said to let her know if there is any project for John Chan.
