  1. ISR Training Committee – Kathy MacDonald
Kathy updated us on where the ISR Training Committee is at in regards the Co-op students. There are 3 core components involved in training the co-op students:
    1) Campus Awareness
    2) Core Library/Campus
    3) Core Subject Specific Area Reference
Working out modules of subject areas. Every new hire will have a supervisor and 3 trainers. One for each of the Core Components. They would make sure all was done, not meaning they have to do all the teaching, just being the contact person and making sure they are given all the instruction they need.
People were asked to take a look at subject pairing. See if you are happy with them. Some switching was done, Kathy will put them in order.
Students are to do one or two modules per week, depending on how large the module is. Four to six questions per week are to be done the 2nd week of work. Three to five times of desk shadowing. In the 3rd week they will be taking the lead on the desk with the main desk person present. The 4th week they are back up, and the 5th week they are on the desk solo.
The new co-op students should spend about 2 hours for the questions per module. The thought was that the types of questions that show up at the desk should be the first module to be taught. This would be the 2nd week in January until about the 1st week in February.
Further discussion could be held via e-mail for databases if people feel that further input is needed.

  2. Evening Desk Shift – Jennifer Haas
What are we doing for evening desk shift? Jonathan Sutherland handed out a report/survey done by Wilson. Wilson focused on data collected from September 7 until the end of November.
We reviewed and discussed Wilson's overview/summary.
It was decided that everyone would like to know the level of activity between the following times: 9:00-10:00 a.m. – on call
    4:00-5:00 p.m. – on call
    5:00-7:00 p.m. on call
The information will be collected and discussed further.
