  1. Approval of the Minutes - Minutes of January 14, 2011 were approved with changes already made.

  2. Business Arising from the Minutes
    1. Stats reports – Jonathan received information regarding Statistics from the Reference Desk for "on call" stats. This will be discussed at an ISR Department Meeting in March.
    2. Renewing Books in Primo – There will be a discussion with Alex at a later date.
    3. Primo-Central Trial – Staff trial of Primo Central is almost done, now awaiting feedback. Deadline is at the end of today. Jennifer is also meeting with Nancy for further discussion. Next week the trial and training should start. There is a chance that we may be able to extend the trial date to the end of the year. This would let us test with students and other patrons. We want to do usability testing and get feedback for Primo Central.

  3. Call for Additional Agenda Items
    1. Feedback about new ISR Training approach – Kathy MacDonald

  4. Fire Warden Appointment – Jennifer
A Fire Warden is needed for the Davis ISR Department. Doug Morton explained the duties involved. There will be training given. Jackie Stapleton has volunteered to take on this position.

  5. Map Location – Kathy Szigeti
Kathy and Laura have been weeding the Davis maps in the Map Library. Kathy asked if selectors want these maps back in Davis. Discussion followed and more questions that need to be answered came up. She will update us regarding this topic when there is information to report.

  6. Feedback about New ISR Training Approach – Kathy MacDonald
Ben and Colin's training is almost done. Kathy is looking for Feedback from selectors. How did the modules and training schedules work for selectors and trainers?
The worksheets worked well. The compressed schedule worked well. Both Ben and Colin felt comfortable doing desk at the end of January. Some training had a few glitches.

  7. Around the Table
    1. Connie – Calendar booking problems. Connie spoke to Michael Holmes regarding the issues with the booking calendar. Training is being scheduled for this soon.
    2. Martha – Supposed to be working on Primo, however could not, because she had to do Desk/Chat schedules twice from scratch.
    3. Zsuzsanna – Cataloguing will get another co-op student in May. With the possibility of being trained by August for desk scheduling for September.
There was a concern with students wanting to see selectors for one on one help, and the misunderstanding of selectors not being available to do so. In fact selectors welcome the opportunity to help students this way as long as their schedule permits such. It was suggested that possibly selectors have "office hours" for students. Office hours are useful, however it was agreed that having access to Librarians on a come by basis is the best.
    4. Anne – Anne had a meeting with Jennifer and Alex regarding noise in Davis, to identify where the problems are. They will be working with Plant Ops to try to resolve this. Anne will keep us up to date on this matter.
Anne is away Tuesday to Monday at a Conference in Washington.
    5. Jackie – this semester is going smoothly. She is involved with LINC Ref works workshops. Twenty-five people signed up for the introductory registration.
Research groups from Health have contacted her for workshops. Jackie would like support in the form of a Library Assistant for her workshops.
The Department of Health and Gerontology has been approved to become a School of Public Health. Jackie is vying to keep the Library on their list of concerns. April 1st the free Public Health website will be launched.
    6. Kathy MacDonald – Her research project is 95% done, a few minor changes were needed. Kathy created a survey that will survey Optometry and Ophthalmology Faculty and Librarians if and how they track evidence based medicine for North America. She created a baseline of who does what and then started a dialogue exchange on this.
Since moving into the Witer Learning Area, Kathy has been doing workshops on Primo, RefWorks, and Conference Proceedings etc. These have all drawn good crowds. Kathy was asked to do a session on this. Martha will look into posting it on SharePoint.
    7. Doug Morton – Alumina's new software is due to be released December 1st. Doug will circulate the URL so everyone can get familiar with it.
    8. Jennifer Haas – OCUL Discovery group has sent of a survey to Ontario Libraries to gather information on discovery layer use and interest in web scale discovery tools.
