  1. Agenda review and call for additional items
    Passed, with no items added.

  2. SharePoint Dashboard proposed changes
    Carol and Martha presented a new Dashboard mock-up, which would make it easier to access all the sub-sites. The mock-up introduced reorganized groupings and links in the left and right tool bars. These new ideas were explored with the group. Several suggestions for improvements were made.

    Action: Carol and Martha will sum these up and report to their respective department heads.

  3. Brainstorm about continued Systems support received from Bill Oldfield
    The group expressed concern about the gap that Bill Oldfield’s retirement would create.

    The consensus was that Library Systems needs to be aware of ISR departmental priorities, and should maintain a list. ISR, on the other hand, needs to be aware of Systems contacts assigned to ISR activities & projects.

    Overall, the group felt that Bill’s vision, professionalism, flexibility, and level of interest in ISR activities & projects is now lost. Bill worked with individual librarians, associates or groups, and connected with other Systems members. Bill was able to provide immediate action and satisfied the need for consistent support. Apart from Bill’s leadership role with UW Space, there are numerous possible initiatives in connection with electronic scholarly communication that require commitment and time. The loss of Marina Wan and Bill, two Systems Librarians, underlines the need for the position of a digital librarian.

    The group compiled a list of continued support activities, which would be passed on to Library Systems.

    Action: Helena will enter this information in Excel, download it into SharePoint and notify ISR members when it is done.

  4. Around the table
    Jackie commented on Jane’s original Authenticate Now link to proxy service used in her Libguides.
