Margaret reported that the ISR Training Committee has been reviewing its terms of reference. The Committee is considering a name change to Information Services Delivery/Training Committee. The Committee will be focusing on information delivery needs and training. The Committee goal is to shorten the length of info desk staff training.
The survey has been sent to all ISR staff regarding upcoming training sessions and Retreat Day. Staff members are encouraged to fill it up and return it.
Margaret has been very busy with Environment Dept. library instruction. She is currently working on two OCGS reports.
Janet reported that demands for electronic text by Adaptive Technology Centre students are overwhelming this term. She has been very busy dividing time between desk duties, helping with instruction sessions and serving students registered with Services for Persons with Disabilities.
Agnes has been busy with library instruction. She has helped Margaret and picked up some of the Environment Dept. sessions (i.e. ENVS 195, ENVS 200, ERS 110 and GEOG 311). Also, she’s been working on general and specialized LINC workshops like Statistics Canada, Data and Government Information. Together with Sandra, she is working on Statistics and Data LibGuide.

She has attended IST sessions on Office 2010, SharePoint 2010 and Exchange Calendar. She is a member of the ad hoc signage group, working on identifying the approach to library generated signs.
In September Judy has trained info desk staff on new LibQuest web version. She spent time with each staff member, showing them the details of the program. She also helped writing LibQuest documentation. Circulation Department has been using LibQuest and Special Collection Department staff is going to be trained, and will start using the program soon.
Judy needs to confirm with the desk scheduler if next year we need to start new term schedule right after Labour Day. She wasn’t sure about the decision made, regarding desk scheduling on Easter Sunday. Judy will look into it.
Judy has been busy helping Sandra, Margaret and Kathy S. with the instruction sessions. She has done searches for Sandra and delivered two library sessions for high school students.
We congratulated Judy on her 40th anniversary with the library!
