Spotlights

Pennsylvania to Waterloo Project:

Judy reported that Kae Elgie from the Region of Waterloo Library will speak on the Pennsylvania / Waterloo Project and the Ontario Digital Project on Friday June 13th. The Davis Conference Room is booked for 10:00 a.m. Action: Judy will add this spotlight to the website. She would also be able to obtain thank you cards from Connie.

Training Retreat

Jackie reported that she has received 8 evaluation responses. Action: Judy will summarize the results and post them on the webpage. Comments from the Committee will appear at the bottom of the evaluation results.

New Staff Training

Kathy MacDonald: Jackie reported that Kathy's training is in progress and some of the sessions have been combined with Martha' s training. Rose Koebel has been co-ordinating the schedule and making the phone calls to set up appointments. For Collections training, Christine Jewell does E-Journals, while Jennifer and Laura will handle the other sections.

Martha Lauzon: Martha's training schedule is still in progress. She will start Information Desk shadowing at the end of May and will be on the desk schedule in July. Martha will be on vacation for three weeks in June.

Laura Howell: Laura will be starting in mid-June as the liaison librarian for Physics and Math. Action: Leeanne will book Laura's training.

Margaret suggested that we need some regular secretarial assistance to assist with booking training appointments for new ISR staff.

Reschedule Next Meeting

The next meeting originally scheduled for May 28th is cancelled.  Details of the training schedule, spotlight, and approval of minutes can be handled by email. The date for the next meeting will be decided after June 13th.

Good bye to Jonathan

Jackie thanked Jonathan for his work during his brief sojourn with the Committee. The Committee will continue with the same membership until Leeanne comes back.
