Present: Alison Hitchens, Connie Kovac (recorder), Martha Lauzon, Kathy MacDonald (chair), Carol Steele, Zsuzsanna Lancsak

1) Approval of Minutes of June 11, 2009 - Minutes were approved with corrections: #10 Old Documents: decision...

2) Additional Agenda - none

3) Business Arising - none

4) Training new staff members - Kristen & Larisa - Both are to still get more training in Web of Science, Scopus, and Primo. Cornelia will get a bit more training, and will be starting on the Davis Reference Desk in September. Carol Steele will follow up and make sure all the training is done.

5) Spotlight Training Sessions -

Graphics - good attendance with the number of questions. The evaluations were positive

Conference Proceedings - Project team includes Kathy MacDonald, Laura Howell and Kristen Jensen.  Phase I -- Kristen did a literature search to determine if there is any research about teaching users how to find conference proceedings and what works best. Phase II - talking to Librarians as to their experiences etc. Taped interviews to be done. Spotlights are to be ready for Winter.

Turnitin and UWACE - Kathy M. will inquire in regards to Turnitin. She will also follow up on having someone come and speak to us on UWACE, updates are to follow.

Cross Training for Porter/Davis/chat ref - Doug Morton has set the date of October 9th to talk about this.

Ares - Alison - all info on Ares has been discussed within ISR Meetings. It is a good idea to have a spotlight to familiarize all departments on Ares. Carol will followup with Alex to do a session on it.

Theatre in Video - Martha will approach Nancy Collins.

6) Web 2.0 Training - Update on training for Library Staff (Alison)

Alison has a list of volunteers to help Library Staff. Main page is still up for people to go back and re-read. Susan R. sent out an e-mail saying it is ready to be used

Additional Session for Info Desk Staff - this will be added possibly in the fall.

7)Staff Survey - draft (Kathy)

Kathy sent around a draft survey for everyone to have a look.

8) Fall 09 and 2010 -

Any focus we should be paying attention to? - We will be guided by our survey.

9) Tasks to do: updating websites etc. -Judy and Carol are in the process of looking after some, as well Martha and Carol are collecting question from Training Manuals and Guides that librarians use in their training - this is still on going. Carol will also update our members list.

10) Next Meeting: Our next meeting will be September 10th, 1:30-3:00 Porter 407.

Welcome to Zsuzsanna Lancsak - she will be on vacation for our next meeting.

Carol mentioned that it has been a busy year.

Kathy is excited about going to Australia in December.
