Meeting Minutes
September 10, 2009

Present: Martha Lauzon, Kathy MacDonald (chair), Judy McTaggart, Carol Steele (recorder)
Minutes were approved with minor changes to #4 & 8, plus addition of the following in #5: Conference proceedings--Project team includes Kathy MacDonald, Laura Howell and Kristen Jensen. Phase I -- Kristen did a literature search to determine if there is any research about teaching users how to find conference proceedings and what works best.
Plus addition to #5 of Theatre in Video.

5. Turnitin and UWACE: Kathy has asked Mary Powers if someone in CTE or UWACE can talk about Turnitin; Kathy is waiting to hear back.
Cross-training for Porter/Davis/chat ref: Kathy will talk to Doug and get more details so that we can promote the session.
9. Membership list has been updated.
Questions used in subject training sessions: Martha and Carol have posted all training questions submitted to SharePoint; they will touch bases with liaison librarians who have not submitted questions in case the latter have something to submit. Liaison librarians could tag “interesting question” on LibQuest when they record consultation statistics.
ACTION: At the next Davis ISR meeting, Kathy will raise the idea of creating a pool of questions to train new hires, for use when portfolio changes, to test oneself, for cross-training; Carol will mention the same at a Porter ISR meeting; Martha will ask Jonathan if referral & consultation look the same on LibQuest.
The group reviewed and revised the survey; survey will be due Oct. 2, with a reminder Sept. 25th.
ACTION: Kathy will make the corrections. Judy will use last year’s cover letter as template for this year; Judy will distribute the survey in hard copy and ask that completed surveys be returned to her.
Martha will create a list when she creates a subsite for the committee.
Next meeting is September 24, 2009 in Davis 1568.
