The minutes of November 11, 2010 were approved.

Reference Desk Statistics – Annie reviewed the Reference Desk Statistics for both Porter and Davis Libraries, between May 2009 and November 2010. For both libraries, 63% of the questions were level I – Non-Resource based; 31% level II Skill-Based; and 6% level III Strategy based. This data highlights the need to ensure that new staff are well-trained in the non-resource category of questions.
4) New Staff Members for 2011
Our new co-op students for the winter term are Ben Robinson and Colin Fitzsimons.
5) Training Schedule Template – Co-op students
The group started working on a Template for training the new co-op students. The 4 core knowledge and skill areas are: Core Campus Awareness; Core Library Services, Core Reference, and Subject Specific Reference.
As a learning experience, new staff should encouraged to follow up with librarians regarding any consultations that were referred to them.
Margaret asked Judy to speak to Carol regarding putting together a format/template for the schedule.
The working schedule is in Sharepoint, with the campus awareness, and core reference modules almost complete. At the next meeting the core library services and the subject specific reference will be further developed.
