1) Approval of minutes Date

The minutes of November 23rd were approved.

4) Training new Staff Members

a) Documentation of new approach and training schedule

We reviewed the Training Schedule format. The training schedule is a Week by Week schedule, with trainers names, e-mails, and extensions. Carol will create a template and continue to fine tune the schedule. Carol & Connie will get together to go over the schedule by Tuesday.

Descriptions of Core Campus Awareness, Core Reference & Subject Specific Reference Outlines should be in place and up on Sharepoint within the week. The Core Campus Awareness training module has been developed by Carol. Core Reference Module has been developed by Judy. The outline for the Subject Specific for Davis training modules has been developed by Kathy and the Porter one by Annie.

b) Co-op Training Approach Memo - It was agreed that it was a very good memo. At this point we are waiting for Annie to review the memo.

Action: Kathy will follow up by sending memo out to Davis and Porter ISR Desk staff. Memo will be sent out on Wednesday notifying liaison librarians and desk staff of the pilot training program.

5) Spotlight/Training Sessions

a) Standards and Codes - Kathy will view the Camtasia screencast and report back regarding suitable training for new co-op students and existing staff members.

b) CANSIM & Census (Kathy) - Kathy contacted Agnes and Sandra regarding this. It will be held Friday January 21st, 10:00 -11:30 a.m. in the Flexlab. (ISR Training Workshop – CANSIM 10:00-10:30; Census 10:45-11:30)

Action: Carol will update events page.

Action: Kathy will post CANSIM & Census in the upcoming events section.

c) Innovation Bootcamp – Zsuzsanna

Nancy came up with the idea to invite Innovation Boot Camp speakers, from the University of Guelph, for a joint LAUW & ISR Training committees event.

The Training Committee is interested in getting more info and seeing if it fits our mandate. There will be further discussion on this.
