a. Subject Specific Trainer Checklist – the committee went over the Davis Subject Specific Trainer Checklist and this checklist, prepared by Kathy, will also apply to Porter.
b. Judy is continuing to work on the documentation for their core reference training.
c. Question was raised regarding training the new cataloguing co-op student that will start in May. Cataloguing is willing to have their co-op student trained in either August or September. If training for the ISR and Cataloguing co-op student begins during the last week of August, our students will be able to provide desk service earlier in September.
d. Training – Feedback. Margaret will e-mail Annie and Jennifer for an appropriate time to get feedback from everyone on the recent training.
5) Spotlight/Training Session
a. Natural Standards Database (Carol)
Carol will contact Angela Madden to see if March would be a good time for her to give her session.
b. Standards & Codes Pt. 2 (Zsuzsanna)
Zsuzsanna spoke to Doug Morton, and he prefers to do his session in April. There was the thought that possibly Doug’s session could be combined with another session for the Retreat.
6) Staff Survey – Fall 2010
What needs to be acted on right now? – E-books, e-devices should be revisited.
Action: Kathy MacDonald will ask Kathy Szigeti regarding the Reaxys database.
7) ISR Training Retreat

Kathy M. will contact Amanda to see if she is available to give a session on Technology Trends.
-Information Literacy practices at UW

-Universal Instructional Design
Under consideration
Thursday April 28th is booked for the ISR Training Retreat. Margaret will double check our booking of the Flex Lab.
The Committee decided to try to have a “whole day” retreat, but the final format will be dependent of the availability of speakers and presenters for the sessions.
8) Tasks to do: updating websites etc.
9) Membership – Zsuzsanna
Zsuzsanna noted that Betty Graf has suggested that the non-ISR member on the ISR Training Committee should be a Professional Librarian from Cataloguing. A professional librarian with supervisory responsibilities would be able to bring a broader perspective to the Committee. Our Terms of Reference does not specify if the non-ISR member should be a librarian or library associate. The Committee discussed the pros and cons of specifying having a professional librarian as a member; Margaret will pass along this suggestion from Cataloguing to Jennifer and Annie.
10) Next Meeting – February 24, 1:30-3:00 Porter Room 428.
