Meeting Minutes
September 15, 2011

1) Approval of minutes of August 11, 2011
The minutes were approved with changes Jonathan made.
2) Additional agenda
Under Spotlights/Training add “b) – Education Institute Upcoming Events”
3) Business arising
Judy and Marianne are working on Policy and Procedures Guidelines. Judy will inform the group when it is ready to be mounted on the Committees Website under Training Documents and will have a link to the manual on the Info Desk Wiki. Kathy will notify both departments.
4) Training New Staff Members
LibQuest – Who is going to train the Tech Support Student in LibQuest?
Marianne is Porters Tech Support Supervisor
Jonathan is Davis’ Tech Support Supervisor
Training for MLIS students is going well.
The scheduling template will be restructured for the next term.
Recommendation for next time is that the selector’s questions will be sent to the subject specific training leads for Davis and Porter, and then be distributed to the co-op students.
After a schedule has been set, if things don’t work out, it is up to the selector to suggest a new time and notify Connie.
5) Annual Staff Survey Implementation
a) Dates for distribution, collection, analysis. Carol will send out an e-mail notifying staff that the survey will be distributed.
6) Lib Guides for MLIS co-op students.
Jonathan showed us the on-line Tech Support Technical Manual. It was decided to show the present co-op students, and get their thoughts on this manual.
Action: Kathy will talk to Jennifer about this and invite the co-op students to take a look at it.
7) Spotlights/Training Sessions – Deferred to the next meeting.
8) Tasks to do: updating websites etc. – Deferred to the next meeting.
9) Next Meeting
Kathy scheduled the next few months for every 2 weeks. Any meetings we do not have things to discuss will be cancelled.
10) Around the table
Zsuzsanna – LibAccess – another co-op student will start in Cataloguing in January, and should be trained for the desk by May. Gayle might be trained for the Porter desk in January if there is a need.
