1) Approval of minutes of February 3, 2012

3) Business arising

Old #4 Tagging in Wiki in FAQ section

i) Carol added a new wiki page for workstation issues – tagging is complete

ii) Quiz for remaining items – no quiz required. Remaining items have been rolled into core training.
The core reference trainer is responsible for checking at the beginning of each term the currency of Info Desk Wiki items tagged “start of term”.
Action: Judy will add this to the Core Reference Trainer Checklist.

iii) MLIS co-op students manual
Gayle, Rachel and Meredith put together a co-op student manual for future co-op students. This will be maintained and updated by them. Kathy will speak with Jennifer as to where this should be located. This should be on the Supervisor Checklist. There will be a link to this in the ISD Training. Carol will add it to the LINKS list in SharePoint.

iv) Pascal has agreed to do a spotlight. Details to follow

v) Kathy e-mailed the selector librarians; she has not heard back as yet. Kathy could do a spotlight on “Biology Images Library”

4) Business Arising Feb. 3/12

Kathy did a meet and greet with Aziz for Davis.

ScholarsPortal Overview – not needed for Aziz; he knows how it works. This, however, should be on the list for future trainers. Carol organized the Campus Tour as well as the Campus Awareness for Aziz; all went well.

Training for New Staff Member – Aziz has completed all Core Reference Training and has started to shadow on the desk. Currently he is working on the 1st two subjects.

Judy and Connie updated/simplified the training scheduling template.

Chat Ref & E-mail Ref. still have to be booked.

Tours of Library Departments are still the responsibility of the Training Committee, checking with the supervisor of each new Trainee. Judy will check with Marian as to what is still need regarding Cataloguing and Acquisitions.

Items on the Library Associate training outline will be categorized according to who is responsible for the items: the Training Committee, the supervisor or the new hire.

Continuing to build the outline as Aziz works through the training program.

5) Spotlight Training Sessions

Legal Studies session with Tim.
Jonathan reported – there were 23 attendees – went well
- 11 good responses

6) Future Spotlight Training Sessions

E-Books Spotlight:  Christine has agreed to do a Spotlight on “Downloading of e-books”. This will be presented March 23rd.

RefGrab-It – cancelled for now

Public Service RDA – deferred

Remaining ideas given in survey

Kathy will present “Biology Images Library” March 3rd.
